Two writers, Alice Scott and Hayden Anderson, compete for the chance to tell the story of Margaret Ives, a reclusive woman with a scandalous past, on Little Crescent Island. Alice, an optimistic and aspiring writer, and Hayden, a Pulitzer-prize winner, are both vying for the opportunity to write Margaret’s biography. With only a month to win her over, Alice must navigate her growing connection to Hayden and the mysterious pieces of Margaret’s story they’re each given under strict confidentiality. As the stakes rise, their own unfolding story could become a romance, a mystery, or a tragedy—depending on who gets to tell it.
